a misguided boy
This guy has lost it. Mandela's life was devoted to making South Africa a more, free just and equal place. Rivkin has devoted his life to Rivkin. He celebrates the ethos of the market not that of the public good.
Evoking Mandela indicates that Rivkin has little understanding of life outside the horizons of the market.

I don't mind the comparison, providing he spends as long in gaol as Mendala did.

Just doing weekends, that'd be a long time.

Isn't it odd? Mr Rivkin is a sharebroker who has been convicted of having broken the law. But, somehow, in his mind he is some sort of wronged hero. Ptui! I am not buying it, Mr Rivkin.

There's plenty of people still living freely in society that committed far more vicious and hurtful crimes than Rivkin did.
His major crime according to most people seems to be being full of himself. He doesn't deserve jail for what he did.

Insider trading is a form of corruption.

I never suggested he didn't break the law, Gary. Just that he shouldn't be imprisoned for the crime.
There are plenty of other punitive options available, which can be and are used on offenders which present a much higher risk to society. Sending Rivkin to jail isn't helping anyone, least of all Rivkin.

Yobbo,
I agree with you.
