not really.. maybe i'm missing something? what does it mean?
that terror comes from within? should i bore a hole in my skull to find out?
that the world is permeated by terrorists, and there is no hope? was this on the back of the Be Alert Not Alarmed pamphlet? (would anyone know??)
maybe, but that's not powerful, it's pessimistic..
the dead past is no match for us, who are alive!

The meaning of the cartoon is loose as you rightly note.
I was thinking more in ternms of the effect of the image, which refers to the intensity and the power of the image itself.
this is so in a world dominated by the imagery of televison, advertising, brand names etc
It is less a representation of actually existing terrorism, and more an expression of the way international terrorism has been constructed by the national security state for its own use and power.
