Should we feel sorry for men? Or is it boys? Or both? Things are now so difficult for men. And they are so vulnerable too. I
t just wasn't like it used to be when everything was ordered. No one is sure what masculinity is any more.
Things must be pretty bad judging by all the spam I'm getting promising to improve my sexual performance in no time.
I think it's a lot of rubbish myself. Men are men, women are women; life is complex.
Twas ever thus, methinks.
Posted by: Scott Wickstein on May 28, 2003 01:36 AMThe voracious animal of 'personal grooming' has been loosed upon males as the corporations involved in that industry seek to expand their operations by convincing men that they must look like photoshopped models who spent the last three days before the photo shoot taking methalione, wrapping garbo bags on their stomach and taking diuretics. Yes, it's a good idea to be fit and healthy, and this will generally make you look younger than you are. However, even discounting the physical and mental costs of engaging in the quest for aesthetic superiority, most of us can't afford to look perfect, so we may as well pay not attention to the crap-mongers trying to sell us more shit that we don't need. You'd probably do much better to get your 20 dollar trackies on and go for a walk, hop on your bottom bracket treadly, do a few pushups, use sunscreen, eat well but not too much, drink plenty of water and avoid over-consumption of all drugs.
