"Life", "living being", and the "process of life" are at the heart of new political battles and new economic strategies along with the possibility of controlling and modifying them.

We usually associate the patenting of the human genome and the development of artificial intelligence; the redesigning of humans by biotechnology and the harnessing of life’s forces for work as biopolitics. We can see that these strategies put in question the forms of life itself.
The struggles around the RU486 drug are also about the body and its potential, life and shaping life. It indicates the way that biopolitics is a new form of governance concerned with population as a political and scientific problem, to that of governing the economy, or the welfare state, which are concerned with sovereignity (right, duty and contract). The conflict over RU 486 indicates the way that we have moved to towards the control of the population through the intertwining of life and power.
