Loyalty to an ally is the main reason for staying in Iraq apparently. That's the official talking point for the neo-cons in Canberra, anyhow. Things appear to be otherwise though:

Sad to see people not being able to get their act together. One almost feels sorry for them--almost. The feeling is more one of pity rather than compassion

I argued recently ('Labor View from Broome' at Http:/laborview.blogspot.com/) that rather than get angry about Iraq or the indigenous invasion, we need to enjoy this election the way we did in 1972. Humour is the way to go, satire not just sarcasm. We must hail the cartoonists who do this best and spread their work. Who can forget the way Ron Tandberg hounded John Kerr?
