If there are diverse kinds of knowledge and ways of knowing place, then we need to learn to value the different ways each of us sees a single place that is significant, but differently so, for each perspective.

great stuff in this site.. I arrived here looking for some photos of hmm.. can't remember now, and spent few hours reading and diggin up some very perceptive comments and stories. Well.. regards to Adelaide from Leeds. (by the way, there are two very good Leeds photos from early 70s somewhere here -maybe i'll soon find some from Adelaide as well, to remind me a short stay couple of years ago..) I'll stay in touch ;-)

what an amzing photo is the "Trent Parke, Sydney. Summer rain, 1998"
the light and shadow creates a painitnig like quality, and i would say almost a wood cut "feeling" to it. very beautiful.

Christos,
nice to hear from you.

My father was born in Leeds then the family went to New Zealand.

The site could be better but I don't have the time. It needs collaboration.

Love his stuff

Doing a project on him in my photography class - anyone wanna send me some useful info!? Cant find much on google....

Thanks!

@ Rachel: You might check on www.foam.nl
I think they'll have an English version of the website. You can find some information about him, there. And I bet he'll have a person website.

I am totally amazed by Trent Parke's ''Minutes to Midnight''. I went to the Dutch FOAM, where I saw his expo.
He's a brilliant photographer.
I especially loved the one with the jellyfishes and the one with those people, working in the rain. : )
