If there are diverse kinds of knowledge and ways of knowing place, then we need to learn to value the different ways each of us sees a single place that is significant, but differently so, for each perspective.

Lockin and Poppin.

I am no dancer but I can appreciate art (awesomeness of expression) when I see it. At the 4.23 mark Daft Punk kicks in and the whole thing heats up. Very cool. Originally via MeFi, but I have watched it so many times that it needs repeating.

Cam,
I love YouTube---it's a treasure trove. I 'm not that familar with MeFi Music or Metafilter. They are very community orientated I see.

The locking and popping street dance (I cannot distinquish between the two related styles) is robotic, jerky and repetitive. That's the point I guess, given the pounding beat that reminds me of industrial machinery, animation and the sounds of a mechanistic urban culture. The growing depth of hip hop dance culture is on display.

It is interesting the way that hiphop dance club music starts to over lap with electronia
