I'm reminded of a poem by Judith Wright. I think it was called 'Falls Country':

"Listen. Listen,
latecomer to my country,
sharer in what I know
eater of wild manna
There is
there was
a country
that spoke the language of leaves."

In our technological mode of being we have have lost that language.
