If there are diverse kinds of knowledge and ways of knowing place, then we need to learn to value the different ways each of us sees a single place that is significant, but differently so, for each perspective.

Merry Xmas everyone. My Xmas present.

Merry Xmas, originally uploaded by poodly.

Thanks for dropping by, commenting and discussing. It's been great. Looking forward to more comments and discussion on photography, visual culture and urban development issues after the Xmas holidays.

Normally I go up to Adelaide for Xmas lunch, but this year the family came down and we had it outside with the new Weber barbecue. It was lovely weather. Soft, still and warm.

Our Xmas dinner was down at Victor Harbor as well. We had duck + quince + lentils (French dish) with a sparkling Shiraz from Bremerton (Langhorne Creek) It was on the balconny after I did a bit of close up photography in Encounter Studio in the morning, then an afternoon walk + photos at Port Elliot. It was very quiet there apart from a few surfers.

People started coming out for their afternoon walk around 4pm, just as we were leaving.
